Avoiding Pedestrian Injury Accidents and Fatalities in Kansas City

• Always cross at a designated crosswalk or at the corner of an intersection.  It might be a little out of your way, but cars are more likely to be alert of people crossing at corners.
• LOOK BOTH WAYS.  Never assume a car is paying attention to you.  Be in control of the situation.  When in doubt wait for a car to pass before you cross.
• If you're out walking at night, wear bright colors.  BE SEEN.
