Bicyclist Killed In New Mexico During Breast Cancer Awareness Ride Across Country

A bicycle ride from Pennsylvania to California began as a ride to raise awareness for breast cancer but ended in tragedy for one of the men that founded the charity ride.  John Anczarski a nineteen year old man from Ringtown, PA. died on June 22nd, one day after being hit by a red SUV riding the Laguna Pueblo in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Anczarski had helped organize the ride with a few of his friends.  The group set a goal of riding from Pennsylvania to California and were set to  arrive at their destination in San Diego sometime within the next week.

While this accident may have happened in New Mexico, it's not too far fetched to imagine a similarly tragic circumstance happening right here in Kansas or Missouri.  Kansas City bicyclists are vulverable to far more serious injury possibilities when they are involved in an accident with automobile, which is why it's important for motorists to put down and avoid any distractions that may keep their mind and more importantly, their eyes off the road.
