Brake Failure on Dump Truck Causes Crash in Oakland; Should Kansas City be Concerned over Trucking Safety?

Last week, in Oakland, California, a dump truck caused a 13 car pile up when the brakes failed coming off a highway exit ramp.  Five people suffered serious injury in the crash but everyone has been treated and released from hospitals.  Reports indicate that according to the driver of the truck, the brakes failed on the vehicle, which caused the accident.  The accident is under a full investigation.
