California Fair Worker Hit By Roller Coaster; Loses Leg

This time of year, it seems like there is a different fair or carnival nearly every weekend in the Kansas City area. Except for the drain on the  pocket book, a day or evening at the fair can be a nice time with the family, even if the rides seem shady at best.  An accident at the Sonoma-Marin County fair in Petaluma, California last week showed just how dangerous it can be to work one of these carnivals, especially when you're not paying attention to your job.

A man working a children's roller coaster at the fair was hit by the coaster while he was trying to cross the track.  A woman acting as a witness to the accident said she saw the man standing on the track, holding a soda, with his back to the oncoming cars.  The man was hit and pulled under the coaster and had his leg severed at the knee.  He was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery but the leg couldn't be saved.  Thankfully, he is expected to survive the accident.

As Kansas City work related injury attorneys at Roswold  Law Group, we see these kinds of accidents more than we should.  Working at a carnival or fair can be dangerous enough as it is, but the risk for serious injury on the  job increases when you let your attention slip even a little bit, as this man unfortunately learned.

If your or someone you know and love has been injured in an accident on the job in Kansas or Missouri contact experienced work related injury attorney James Roswold and the accident and injury lawyers of Roswold Law Group who specialize in these cases.
