Can Kansas City parents prevent child abuse?
A Delaware pediatrician who was accused of molesting more than 100 of his patients pleaded not guilty today to the more than 470 criminal charges brought against him.
Dr. Earl Bradley of Lewes, Delaware faces 471 counts of child rape and sexual exploitation for the rapes of 103 children between 1998 and 2009. The youngest victim was only a few months old. They were all under 16.
Dr. Bradley raped the children when they were brought to his office for medical care. He filmed the attacks to create child pornography.
This is a horrific case of child abuse. Predators like Dr. Bradley are very good at getting the trust of parents and care givers. Many parents would not think to question a doctor who wanted to observe a child alone. However, medical professionals should never ask to see a child without the parent present.
If you suspect that your child is the victim of any type of abuse, the first step is usually to contact a pediatrician. In this case, the abuser was the pediatrician.
