Carbon monoxide poisoning is to blame for the death of a teenage girl in Oak Grove, MO on Tuesday evening. Authorities discovered the body of the teenager when they were called to the fourplex house because of an odor reported by the neighbor. Two others, the grandmother of the teen and another teenage girl, a friend of the victim were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
According to authorities, a car running inside a garage is to blame for the carbon monoxide. The garage doors were shut with the car running. The car belongs to the grandmother, described as a woman in her 60s. It is unclear at this time if the woman simply forgot to turn the vehicle off upon entering the garage. The investigation into this matter continues.
