Child On Bicycle Hospitalized After Being Hit by SUV Near Kansas City School

A 10-year-old boy on a bicycle was struck by an SUV at the intersection of North Lister Avenue and Northeast Russell Road, near Eastgate MIddle School, Monday evening in Kansas City, Missouri.  Police report that the child rode through a stop sign into an intersection and was struck by the oncoming vehicle.

The boy was taken to an area hospital for head injuries, but is expected to recover from this traumatic brain injury.  The driver of the SUV truck was not injured and is cooperating fully with the police.
