Properly maintaining your vehicle should never be taken lightly. Not keeping up on vehicle maintenance, especially your tires, can lead to a malfunction that can cause accidents leading to serious injury. No matter how attentive you are behind the wheel, accidents can still happen if you don't take care of your car or truck.
A 21 year-old
woman and her 8 month-old son suffered possible serious injury in a rollover accident in Topeka, KS. yesterday. The accident happened on I-70 near the S.W. MacVicar exit during rush hour. According to Topeka police, the accident was a tire malfunction that caused a tire to blow, and the Jeep Liberty to rollover, inurying both occupants. The police did say the child was properly restrained in a child seat, which no doubt saved the child's life.
Vehicle malfunctions can happen for a lot of reasons. Properly maintaining your vehicle is the pro-active way you can prevent these from happening. Check your tires every couple of months. Have them rotated and replaced if necessary when the tread begins to wear.
Also, keep up to date on possible vehicle re-calls from your local dealership. By ignoring even the most seemingly insignificant re-call update, you can put yourself at risk for a dangerous situation.
