Congratulations Alahna Keil!

Alahna Keil, a determined 14 year old young lady from La Crosse, Wisconsin Central High School, living with Cerebral Palsy, has achieved her goal to earn her black belt in karate earlier this month! About one hundred people witnessed as this Alahna focused throughout the hour long test, hitting targets, using trained techniques, and doing an additional five rounds of sparring. Her instructors are proud of her and are excited to teach her more as she progresses through her black belt degrees. Cerebral Palsy presents significant physical challenges, and young Alahna's strength and determination to succeed is an inspiration to everyone. She has been involved with karate for four years and she feels she has learned a lot of great lessons over time from this discipline, such as HAVING THE STRENGTH AND DETERMINATION TO NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER WHAT CHALLENGES SHE MIGHT FACE. Alahna knows she despite her disability she can do what she wants to do and not let her disability stop her!

Apparently Alahna has always been a fighter! She had to use a walker to ambulate for several years but in 6th grade she set it aside and through sheer determination began to walk on her own. Alahna's karate training has helped her learn to maintain her balance, which she sees as the biggest reward to the numerous benefits that karate has offered her. Alahna's karate instructor notes that she has challenges that they need to overcome but nothing that Alahna cannot handle. She has her aches and pains but never gripes or whines. Best of all, Alahna knows full well that fighting through surgery after surgery, extensive physical therapy, and every other challenge that Cerebral Palsy has presented her with, she is an inspiration! There is no question that her latest achievement - a black belt in karate - is an inspiration to all.

Alahna wants to be a physician when she grows up! Given the tenacity she has shown thus far, it looks like anything is possible!

Alahna is a LIMITATIONS BUSTER in the eyes of the Missouri and Kansas child injury attorneys at Roswold Law Group!!! She's an INSPIRATION not just to those with limitations but to us all, proving that those with limitations can do more than simply participate. THEY CAN EXCEL!!! I am humbled.

This is exactly the kind of awareness that the Roswold Foundation for Injured Children seeks to raise as well as preventing future child injuries.
