CPSC Recall: Does Your Kansas City Child Use a Baby Hammock?

Do you have a baby hammock in your home?  Does your sitter or anyone else that may care for your child?  If this is even a possibility, be sure to check the label or find out who the maker is because the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has made another recall, this time on baby hammocks manufactured by a company known as MamaLittleHelper.

Allegedly, their have been three reports of children sinking down into the hammock and not being able to pull themselves back up.  Although no one has been injured, the CPSC felt it necessary to recall this product.

These hammocks were sold between May of 2008 until August of this year.  They were available for purchase online at the MamaLittleHelper website.

The recalled hammocks may be difficult to identify because out of the three models being recalled--the BL22, the 1010, and the 1020--only one of the models, the BL222, has an identifying label with the company's name on it.

If you are suspicious, don't fret just yet.  There are other ways to determine if you have one of these recalled products.  First, look at the model number on the side.  This is probably the most helpful factor to look for.  However, if you cannot find it, consider what the hammock looks like.  The hammock itself is built more like a swinging seat with a metal frame that uses a spring, some rope, and a metal hanger to hold up the cloth hammock that hangs below.  The cloth part has a supportive back and a slightly lower front so the child can see over.  In the hammock, their is a soft pad to cushion.  To view pictures and learn more about this recalled product, you can either visit the company's product recall website or the CPSC's website for more details.

If you have a child who has suffered a serious injury as the direct result of a defective product in Kansas or Missouri, you may be entitled to compensation for your losses.  Contact the experienced Kansas City Personal Injury Lawyers of Roswold Law Group.  With over 15 years of experience in Defective Product and Product Liability cases, we can help.  Call today for a free consultation.
