Distracted Jogging In Overland Park

The Kansas City Star reported that a pedestrian was seriously injured last night at approximately 7:30 p.m. while jogging in Overland Park, Kansas near Corporate Woods.

It was reported that two men were running north on Indian Creek Parkway and attempted to cross College Boulevard on a red light. A westbound vehicle with a green light drove through the intersection and struck one of them, injuring him seriously.

The Overland Park Police are investigating, but witnesses have indicated that the westbound vehicle was proceeding on a green light.

The jogger was taken to a local hospital and was reported to be in stable condition.

This accident is a good reminder to pedestrians and drivers that everyone needs to be paying attention when they are on or about our local roads. Distractions are everywhere and lead to accidents of all kinds.

Here, it appears that for some reason, the joggers were distracted and did not see the oncoming car. They are lucky to be alive.
