Do You Suffer From TBI in Kansas or Missouri?; Female Hormone May Help Patients Recover from Brain Injuries

At Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys, we know that serious head injuries continue to be one of the most dangerous type of injury to suffer.  Nearly two million people every year suffer some sort of traumatic brain injury and each year nearly 50,000 of those victims die because of that head injury.  Among the survivors of TBI, another 80,000 are disabled for life.  For the most part, there isn't much doctors can do.  There have been many experimental treatments but none that have proven to work from person to person.

Thanks to research being conducted at Emory University that may be about to change.  An in depth study is showing that a treatment using the female hormone progesterone could in fact show recovery in the brain over time.  The study began at Emory by Professor Donald Stein, who began his research working on the brains of lab rats.  His tests showed what many of his colleagues thought was impossible: substantial recovery in brain activity.

Emory University is now conducting further research thanks to support from the National Institutes of Health.  Across the country, 17 medical centers in 15 states are conducting studies using progesterone.

Our experienced Kansas City Brain Injury Attorneys, we are proud as always of the ongoing research being conducted worldwide.  Brain injuries cause different reactions within the brain from patient to patient.  We encourage you to always have a head injury checked out no matter how slight the initial injury may seem.  Head injuries, even minor ones, can often times not begin to show any damage or side affects for months and sometimes years after the injury occurs.

If you or a loved one has suffered a serious or traumatic brain injury in an accident that happened in Kansas or Missouri, you may be entitled to compensation for your losses.  Contact our Kansas City Personal Injury Lawyers.

With over 15 years of experience with Brain and Spinal Injuries including Traumatic Brain Injury, we may be able to help you and your family through this difficult time.  Call our office today to set up a free consultation to discuss your personal injury claim.
