Dodge City, Kansas Museum to Cut Down Nooses After Near Fatal Accident

A 69 year-old man from Arkansas suffered a serious injury when he was nearly strangled while posing for a picture with a noose at the Old West Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City, Kansas in September.  Reports indicate the man was posing with the noose around his neck when he passed out and became entangled in the noose.  He was freed and rushed to a hospital.

According to the museums Executive Director the noose was hanging in its proper place and no one knew how the noose became so loose that it was within reach.  As a result of this accident, the representatives from the museum have said all nooses will be removed from the rafters.
