Ex-Kansas City Chiefs Football Player Hit by Car in Arizona

Former Kansas City Chiefs RB Ed Podolak was injured in a pedestrian-auto accident in Scottsdale, Arizona last Sunday.  According to local police in the Phoenix suburb, Podolak was not inside a crosswalk when he was hit.  The driver attempted to stop, but was unable to do so before hitting Podolak.  In a statement released by his daughter, the 63-year-old is in stable condition, is undergoing "minor surgeries" and is in good spirits.

For Drivers:
- yield to pedestrians when crossing a sidewalk or entering an alley or driveway with your vehicle
- yield to pedestrians at crosswalks
- do not pass vehicles that are stopped at crosswalks or intersections

For Pedestrians:
- yield to drivers at crosswalks or intersections until you have the green light
- do not step in front of a moving vehicle unless you know you have time to clear the vehicle
- if a sidwalk is unavailable, walk on the left side of the road against traffic
