A piece of falling concrete hit and killed a construction worker who was working on a construction barrage that was moored under the bridge removing vertical, concrete spandrels attached to one of the bridge's arches.  The victim was a contract worker employed by Britton Bridge LLC and was wearing a hard hat at the time of the construction accident.
