Father and Infant Son Survive Rollover Accident Caused by Icy Roads

This is an amazing story. A father and his six month-old son were hospitalized following a rollover accident on Route VV east of Highway 7 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. The accident happened on Monday morning around 8:30 a.m. The roads were slushy and snow was still falling, making for slippery conditions. The 24 year-old man lost control of the vehicle coming around a bend, went off the road and rolled over into a pond, submerging the vehicle.

 

The man freed himself and then managed to free his young son, who had been underwater, upside down, strapped into his car seat. When emergency crews arrived they treated both the father and son for hypothermia and both of them were hospitalized. The baby was held over night at Children's Mercy Hospital for further observation. Both father and son are expected to recover.
