Fire Causes 20-Vehicle Pile-up in Southeast Missouri

Drivers traveling along Missouri U.S. 60 in southeast Missouri got an unexpected surprise on Monday when they encountered heavy, black smoke on the highway.  The smoke, appears to have caused a 20-car pile-up that injured 33 people on Labor Day.  According to authorities a farmer was burning trash when a nearby field caught fire.  The fire sent heavy, black smoke onto the highway.  The smoke lingered over the highway causing the giant pile-up.
