Grandview Police Shoot At Suspected Drunk Driver During Police Car Chase

Belton police attempted to pull over a driver around 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning under the suspicion of drunk driving.  Unfortunately, the driver took off and let police on a chase.  Grandview police joined the action and put out "stop sticks" in an attempt to disable to vehicle and detain the driver.

Unfortunately, the driver swerved around the "stop sticks" and was headed for a police officer.  The officer, a 25-year-old, 3-year veteran of the department opened fire on the vehicle.  The vehicle was hit, but the driver was not injured and the car proceeded through the intersection.

Grandview police again set up "stop sticks" and successfully were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the driver.  Charges are pending.
