A fatal
head-on collision in Gardner, Kanasas has caused the death of two individuals and has hospitalized three others. A 13-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the pickup truck, who was ejected from his vehicle, died later at a local hospital.
Investigators are continuing to their efforts to determine the cause of the crash. Unfortunately, head-on wrecks are frequently deadly. In 2005, head-on collisions were approximately 2% of all wrecks, but accounted for 10.1% of all fatalities. Head-on collisions usually occur when a driver crosses the center line hitting an oncoming vehicle. Reasons for crossing the center line vary, but are frequently due to driving while drowsy, distracted driving or driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
In this case, there has yet to be a determination as to the cause of the accident, but the lawyers at Roswold Law Group want to take the time to remind everyone of the dangers of head-on accidents. As
experienced Kansas City Auto Accident Attorneys we often see the tragic end in crashes such as these. We would like to extend our sympathy to the Apperson and Whaley families.
