High Speed Car Chase In Independence and Kansas City, Missouri Reaches Speeds in Excess of 100 mph

Another high speed car chase occurred in Kansas City in the early morning hours on Thursday.  Independence police were looking for a Land Rover that had been reported stolen from a 7-Eleven at U.S. Highway 24 and Noland Road.  The SUV was spotted about an hour after the initial report and the pursuit began, with speeds reaching in excess of 100 mph. 

The chase ended in Kansas City, Missouri when the Land Rover crashed through a fence and hit a retaining wall outside a local business near 11th Street and Tracy Avenue.  The driver and any passengers in the vehicle escaped.
