High Speed Pursuit on I-70 in Kansas Ends with Head-On Collision with a Semi-Truck

A man was killed in a head on collision with a semi-truck, the violent conclusion to a nearly 50 mile high speed chase involving police.  The chase began on I-70 westbound when police attempted to pull over a pick up truck.  The truck instead refused to pull over and police pursued.  After 30 miles the pick up changed over into the east bound lanes, where police continued to pursue for another 20 miles.  The high speed pursuit came to a gruesome end when the pick up collided with a big rig, killing the driver of the pick up.  The semi-truck driver was not injured in the Kansas Trucking Accident.

 

No matter how many times this happens, the lesson is never learned. Running from the police only makes your situation worse. When you decide to run from police, forcing them to give chase you are putting yourself at risk of serious injury and even death for yourself, the police men and women who are doing their job as well as innocent motorists on the road.
