Hit-And-Run Accident Shakes Up Kansas City Historic Jazz District

A 26-year-old man is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries following an accident near 19th and Vine in the historic Jazz District Saturday morning.  Police were running radar in the area when they spotted a white Lincoln Navigator driving erratically.  When they attempted to pull over the vehicle, the driver took off at a high rate of speed.  The SUV crashed into the victim's car and immediately left the scene of the accident. 

Shortly after the car crash, police received a report from the owner of the SUV that the vehicle had been stolen overnight, but returned with a large dent in the front end of the vehicle.  Police are questioning the owner.
