Do you have a job that requires you to load or unload semi-truck trailers? Next time you're working, take not of all the possible dangers that your job entails. What can go wrong on your end and for the driver of the truck that can lead to a catastrophic accident?
A
worker in South Dakota was killed when a semi-truck accidentally backed up over the man, who was standing behind the truck waiting to unload the semi-truck trailer's flatbed. The accident happened in early October in White Lake, South Dakota. According to news reports the man was caught between the two trucks and unable to get out of the way. The driver of the truck was unable to see the victim who was crushed by the truck's massive dual tires. The truck driver is not currently facing any charges.
At Roswold Law Group, our
experienced Kansas and Missouri Workers Compenstation Lawyers know your job is dangerous and we know driving a semi-truck is no picnic either. Semi-trucks offer blind spots on both sides of the vehicle that can make it difficult if not impossible to see anyone standing behind the truck. If you work a job, where you have to load or unload these types of vehicles, be safe. Make yourself visible to the driver by letting him or her know you are back there and stay out of the way until the truck comes to a complete stop.
