How Safe and Attentive are You at Kansas City Railroad Crossings?

Have you ever been in an auto accident?  Think of the damage and serious injury that can be caused when a pedestrian is hit by a car or even a sports utility vehicle. Then transfer that equation and pit a train versus ANY vehicle. The results aren't going to be pretty. Anyone is lucky if they are still alive after being involved in an accident with a train.

Last week in Kelso, WA., a sports utility vehicle was struck by a train, killing three passengers in the SUV and critically injuring a fourth.

As experienced Kansas City Auto Accident Attorneys at Roswold Law Group, we know that not all victims survive an accident involving a train. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the victims' families and hope the surviving victim in this accident recovers from his injuries.  In the future, we hope all motorists respect the rules of the train crossings, if not the immense power of the trains themselves.

Once those lights start blinking and the safety arms go down, STOP. Even if you think you have enough time to snake through the gates before the train gets to you, don't do it. You're putting your life and the lives of your friends and family in danger. This accident in particular happened at a private rail crossing but the same rules apply.  Stop.  Look.  Listen.  Be smart.  It is nearly impossible for a train to stop suddenly.  As a motorist, do what you have to do to get across safely, even if it means waiting longer than you want to.

If you have been involved in an auto accident in Kansas or Missouri and have suffered from serious injury as a result? Let us help.
