How Safe are Kansas Road Construction Crews? Distracted Driving a Threat to Workers

At Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys, we talk a lot about the dangers of distracted driving.  Side swipes and rear end collisions are just a couple things that can happen as the result of inattentive driving.  Pedestrian injury is another-- or as in this case, a worker injury in a road construction zone.  A 19-year-old construction worker was killed on the job when he was hit by a pick-up whil working on Interstate 75 in Brandon, Florida.  The fatal construction accident happened on June 14, 2011 around 4:30 a.m. when the worker was collecting traffic-control devices along the shoulder of the highway.

The worker was killed when he was hit by a pick-up truck after the driver had allegedly lost control and hit the utility truck carrying the rest of the contstruction crew-- and forcing the collision with the worker.  The man has been identified as Robert Armstrong Jr., of Valrico, FL.

Our experienced Kansas City Injured Workers Lawyers are here to protect you and your family if you or a loved one is injured.  Unfortunately, not all accidents are preventable.  Usually they are caused by the negligence of another.  In this case, something caused a distraction to this motorist than took away their ability to see how close the worker was to the road.  Traffic laws change in work zones.  Hitting a worker is often a very steep fine.  Drive safe through our work zones.

If you or someone you love has suffered a serious injury as the result of a work related accident in Missouri and Kansas, you may be entitled to compensation including medical bills, lost wages and legal fees.  If this sounds like your situation, you need someone in your corner you can trust.  Call experienced Kansas City Personal Injury Lawyers James Roswold and Heather Lottman.  With over 15 years of experience in Workplace Injury Accident and Wrongful Death cases, we may be able to help you and your family through this difficult time.
