Increased Police = Decreased Drunk Driving Auto Accident Fatalities in Kansas City

Thanks to increased efforts by members of the Kansas City, Missouri police department, the number of auto accident related deaths is down in the Kansas City Missouri metro area.  An increase in police patrol units and more and more checkpoints have limited the number of fatalities to twenty-four so far this year compared to twenty-nine at this point last year. Police estimate that only half of those fatalities can be attributed to the consumption of alcohol and/or illegal drugs compared to two-thirds of these being related to drunk driving collisions and so forth in 2009.

The reason for the decrease in these auto accident fatalities may or may not be because of the increased police patrols and the number of DUI checkpoints on the Kansas City streets every weekend but the fact remains that the presence of the police has an affect on how drivers behave behind the wheel.  The number of fatalities may be down but they are still too high.

Alcohol related automobile accidents and fatalities can be prevented by knowing your limits.  If you plan on drinking don't plan on driving.  Secure a ride home before your evening begins or call a taxi.

The Kansas and Missouri auto accident and personal injury attorneys at the Roswold Law Group would like to encourage drivers to continue to practice safe driving practices to ensure the roads are safe for everyone.  If you or a loved one has been injured in an auto accident contact, lawyer James Roswold and his experienced Kansas City personal injury lawyers will go the extra mile to seek justices and a fair settlement.
