Driver fatigue is one of the most fatal forms of dangerous driving. The scary thing is all motorists can probably think of at least once when they were driving when they knew they were probably too tired to focus. You never think it can happen to you. Until it's too late. Tragedy always strikes when you least expect it.
This week a minivan carrying seven people crashed in Iowa and police report that the accident was probably due to the driver falling asleep at the wheel. Four people in the minivan died in the wreck, included a 6-year-old child. The driver of the minivan struck a semi along the highway causing the van to cross over into the opposing lanes of traffic where it slammed head on into another vehicle. The driver and the passenger in the other vehicle were also killed. The three others in the minivan were taken to area hospitals for treatment and one is considered to be in critical condition at this time.
