Johnson and Johnson Issues Another Tylenol Recall; Kansas City Affected By Recent Recall And Pending Criminal Investigation

McNeil Consumer Healthcare and Johnson and Johnson, the makers of Tylenol products have issued another re-call on Tylenol related products, the eighth time the company has had to re-call its products in the past year.  This time, the re-call by McNeil Health Care is for 21 Tylenol products, including Tylenol Extra Strength, Tylenol PM, Children's Tylenol Meltaways, Benedryl Allergy Ultratab Tablets and Motrin IB products.

The latest re-call was issued because metal particles, chemical contamination and dangerous bacteria have been discovered in some bottles, although the company has not received notification of any illnesses due to consumption.

As a company, Johnson and Johnson has been around for over 124 years.

A similar situation happened in 1982, when the company faced a major crisis after bottles of pain killers were tampered with poison, which resulted in the deaths of several people.  Johnson and Johnson spent many years trying to regain the trust of the American consumer, a problem it will surely be facing after the continuing problems it is undergoing.

Because of the ongoing problems and previous Tylenol re-calls, a criminal investigation into possible tampering is underway.

As Kansas City Defective Products and Product Liability Lawyers, we hope you take this as well as other re-calls very seriously.  While this dangerous product hasn't yet yielded any victims of illness, it doesn't mean can not or will not happen. If you have purchased any of these products the safe thing to do, as with all dangerous product re-calls, is to contact the manufacturer.  Do not continue to take the product, which, in a worse case scenario, can cause serious injury and possible death.

If you or someone you love has been injured by a defective product in Kansas or Missouri, contact the experienced Kansas City Personal Injury Attorneys of Roswold Law Group who specialize in defective product liability cases for a free consultation.  If you have a personal injury claim, we will let you know.
