Last week in Dallas, Texas, two men who were sleeping at a DART bus stop were killed when man driving a Chevy pick up truck slammed into the bus stop killing both men. The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. The 50 year-old driver of the pick up was drunk and is being charged with two counts of intoxicated manslaughter.
Here at Roswold Law Group, we are are glad that law enforcement officials in both states are working hard to keep these dangerous drivers off our streets. Recent changes in Kansas and Missouri laws are giving those convicted larger fines and in some cases guaranteed jail time. That being said, we'd like to thank the men and women who work hard to protect our streets from dangerous drunk drivers.
For more information on Drunk Driving Deaths, read our library article, "Many Missouri Drunk Drivers are Repeat Offenders".
Our Kansas and Missouri Drunk Driving Accident Lawyers hope that if you are planning on drinking, make sure you have a designated driver or can call someone to pick you up. If you drink and drive, you eventually will get caught and the fines and jail time won't be worth that one dangerous trip home that got you caught. Besides, when you get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or illegal drugs, you are not only putting your life in danger but also the lives other other motorists and pedestrians on the road as well.
If you or someone you love has suffered a serious injury in a car accident caused by a drunk driver, you may be entitled to compensation for your losses.
