Kansas and Missouri Motorists on Alert after State Trooper Injured in Accident Caused by Drowsy Driving

Scary situation in Kentucky.  An elderly man was killed and his passenger suffered a serious injury in a dangerous auto accident on U.S. 52 in Madison County, KY.  Reports indicate the elderly man fell asleep at the wheel of the car and lost control, crashing into a Volkswagen Beetle.  A Kentucky State Trooper was also injured in the accident when one of the vehicles rolled back over his legs.  He was also hospitalized with serious but non life threatening injuries.

Our experienced Kansas and Missouri Auto Injury Attorneys want to remind all motorists about the dangerous of Drowsy Driving.  We've all been there before.  It's late but you have to get where you're going.  Keep in mind though that you may not realize just how tired you are until you get behind the wheel of your vehicle and get on the road.  In other words, when it may already be too late.  If you have to drive late at night, do something to help keep you awake.  Listen to your music a little louder or drive with a window down.

The facts are there.  Drowsy Driving causes nearly 56,000 car accidents every year.  It's a crazy statistic but sadly right on.  This is a very serious situation and unfortunately one that doesn't seem to be getting any better.  So, next time you get behind the wheel at night, make sure you are ready to drive for the duration of your trip, no matter how long and boring it gets.  Drive safe.  Drive smart.

If you or someone you love have suffered a serious injury in an automobile accident in Kansas or Missouri, you may be entitled to compensation for your losses.  Contact the experienced Kansas City Personal Injury Lawyers of Roswold Law Group.
