Doctors Amazed by Child's Recovery Following Tractor Accident; Protect Your Kansas City Child around Farm Equipment

What could have been a devastating family tragedy became a rare miracle when an eleven-year-old boy managed to avoid death and survived a catastrophic accident with a very serious injury.  The 11 year-old victim and his brother were playing on a family tractor when one of them accidentally knocked the tractor out of gear.  The tractor began rolling towards a tree.  The 11 year old was knocked off the tractor by his brother in an attempt to protect him.  Unfortunately, the boy landed under the tractor and was run over.  The tires on the tractor weigh between 1100 and 1500 pounds and crushed poor the child's skull and broke numerous bones in his face.  To make matters worse, he has had a shunt in his head since birth and has had several brain bleeds in the past. 

Fortunately, his brother was able to drag him towards the front gate and alert the parents.  Emergency personnel were brought in and quickly took the injured boy to a local grade school to meet a medical helicopter which transported him to a St. Louis hospital.

Following a three and a half hour surgery, doctors explained that he would likely suffer brain damage or paralysis.  Surprisingly, however, the victim must have had other plans.  As he recovered, he started communicating,  and just two weeks after the accident was released from the hospital.  Althought he has suffered some brain damage, the parents have stated it is hardly noticeable.
