Kansas City Construction Crews in Danger of Distracted Driving Accidents

In Ohio over the weekend, a 40 year-old road construction worker was killed when he was struck by a semi-truck. The construction worker was helping his crew post signs when the big rig went off road. The driver admits he was trying to pick up some loose papers-- not watching where he was going in a marked construction zone.

We'd like to extend our deepest sympathies to friends and family of the worker killed in this unfortunate situation. Losing a loved one is never easy, especially when the accident could have been prevented.

As experienced Kansas and Missouri Workers Compensation Attorneys, we know accidents can strike at any time. Although workers' compensation laws,  exist in both Kansas and Missouri to provide benefits to workers who are injured or are killed as a result of an on the job injury, workers' compensation is an area that can be very confusing to an injured worker.

As we have discussed before, distracted and inattentive driving is one of the leading causes of accidents among automobile and motorcycle and as in this case-- trucking accidents. Unfortunately, being involved in an auto accident isn't something you usually have to worry about while on the job. For construction workers, it is a fear they have to deal with every day.

There are steep fines for motorists who strike road workers in Kansas and Missouri-- but don't forget there are lives at stake.

Contact Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys today to set up a free consultation to discuss your situation. We have over 15 years of experience in Work Related Injury and Fatality cases in Kansas and Missouri.
