Kansas City Hospitals on Alert after Texas Hospital Sued for Medical Malpractice when Discharged Woman Gives Birth at Home

A woman is seeking damages against a Texas hospital after an crazy incident that led to the woman giving birth at her home instead of the hospital.  The lawsuit claims a woman was discharged a Texas hospital while she was in active labor.  Shortly after being discharged the woman ended up giving birth at her home with the assistance of Emergency Medical Technicians.  The suit claims the baby suffered an injury during delivery that could have been prevented if the baby was born in the hospital where it is properly equipped to handle a delivery.

A lawsuit has been filed against the Columbia Medical Center of McKinney Subsidiary and Columbia North Texas Subsidiary GP.  In the suit, the woman Cherry claims her infant child suffered injuries that would not have been received had the baby been born in the hospital.
