Kansas City Metro Area Spring Storms Knock Down Semi Tractor Trailer Trucks in Missouri and Kansas. One Injury Reported

Three semi tractor trailer trucks fell victim to Friday morning's spring storms in Kansas City.  On the Missouri side on Highway 152 near North Brighton Avenue two semi tractor trailers were knocked over due to strong winds.  Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Storms were equally furious on the Kansas side, as a semi on Kansas Highway 10, near Kansas Highway 7 was also blown over by high winds. The Kansas driver was not so lucky and one person was injured in the accident and southbound K-7 was shut down at the K-10 interchange because of the crash.

Less than two weeks ago the Kansas City metro area was blanketed with snow and now we have our first spring storm.  Spring weather in Kansas City can create significant problems on our roadways.  High winds are particularly difficult for tractor trailers to deal with because of their high profile.

At Roswold Law Group, driving safety is one of our top concerns. Our experienced personal injury accident attorneys have first hand experience with the type of incident that occurred this Friday with high winds knocking over a semi tractor trailer truck. In that instance, as in many like this involving commercial vehicle accident injuries, the situation was work related and the seriously injured Missouri worker was able to recover workers compensation benefits under Missouri law. Friday's brief spring storm is a great reminder to everyone that high winds, along with other weather conditions common to Kansas and Missouri in the spring, need to be taken very seriously.
