Kansas City motorcyclists seriously injured in Missouri crash
A motorcycle passenger who was thrown in a motorcycle-car collision was struck by second vehicle as he was waiting for help.
Daniel H. Burge, 19, of Kansas City was driving a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle with a passenger, Zachary R. Elder, 21, of St. Joseph. The accident occurred on Saturday, April 10 around 10:35 pm. The men were headed southbound on I-435 when Burge struck a 1998 Jeep from the rear. Both men were thrown from the motorcycle. As Elder was lying in the street, he was hit by a second Jeep.
Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Elder was wearing a helmet, but Burge was not. The accidents are under investigation.
