Kansas City parents: Graco recalls 1.2 million high chairs
Graco Children’s Products, Inc., one of the largest manufacturers of American baby products, has announced the recall of 1.2 million high chairs manufactured between November 2003 and December 2009.
Consumers who own Graco Harmony high chairs should stop using the chairs immediately. The screws that hold the front legs of the high chair may loosen and fall out and/or the plastic bracket may crack. These defects can cause the high chair to tip over unexpectedly.
Graco and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have received 464 reports of such incidents. The tip-overs have resulted in minor injury to twenty-four babies and toddlers. Injuries include cuts, bumps, bruises, scratches, bumps and bruises to the head, and a hairline fracture of the arm.
All Harmony High Chairs are affected by the recall. The chairs were manufactured from November 2003 until December 2009. They are no longer in production.
The chairs were sold at AAFES, Burlington Coat Factory, Babies “R” Us, Toys “R” Us, Sears, Target, Walmart, Shopko, USA Baby and other Kansas City retailers.
