Man Killed after Rear-Ending Towed Vehicle in the Middle of I-70 in Kansas City

A three vehicle accident on I-70 in Kansas City, Missouri claimed the life of one person and injured others involved. According to Kansas City police, the rear-end collision was caused when a sports utility vehicle towing a car stopped in the middle of the highway. Another vehicle was unable to stop and crashed into the other car, killing a 36 year-old man in the process.

 

Right now details are limited on what exactly went wrong here. It could be a combination of many factors, such as not properly getting a stalled car off the road. It is unclear on whether or not the victims were towing their vehicle using proper safety standards. It's also possible that in addition to these, the driver of the third vehicle may have been practicing something we call distracted driving. Either way, this is a tragic accident that could have been prevented-- although sometimes it's impossible to see such a tragedy taking place ahead of time.
