Missouri Affected by Recect Skippy Peanut Butter Recall by FDA

Every week it seems there are different dangerous product recalls being announced.  Maybe it's something insignificant like the Shrek glasses at McDonald's last year or the recent egg recall that sent quite a scare into every poultry eater.

 

Now, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a limited recall on Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter and Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter in 16.3 oz. jars.  The most recent recall was issued on March4, 2011 because of a possible salmonella contamination found during an inspection.

 

If you feel your Skippy Peanut Butter might be included in this recall, check the UPC code:

• Affected UPC codes: 048001006812 and 048001006782

 

The following states were affected by this limited dangerous product recall: Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

If you have purchased one of these recalled products, trash the product and call the company directly for a replacement coupon at 1-800-453-3432.  This is a 24 hour hotline.
