One Child Killed, Others Injured in I-70 Crash During Inclement Weather

Sunday's inclement weather caused an accident along I-70 at I-635 just after 2:00 p.m.  Sadly, an eight-year-old died from injuries she recieved when she and two other children, ages 10 and 12, were ejected from the vehicle.  The three children ejected were not wearing seat belts.  These children, plus, two other children, ages 2 and 5, and the 34-year-old wife of the driver were all transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.  The driver was not injured. 

Weather conditions continue to plague our area with hazardous roadways and defensive driving is a must, especially when road conditions are not ideal.  Seat belts provide the best protection for anyone travelling in a motor vehicle.  Seat Belts Save Lives!
