A
child suffered only minor injuries after being involved in a rear end collision in Kansas City, Mo. on Monday. The accident happened around 11:35 a.m. on Monday at the intersection at 41st street and North Brighton Avenue. The bus picked the child, a pre-schooler at Winwood Elementary, up from school and was on its way to taking the kid home when the bus was rear ended by a 17 year-old driving a truck as it slowed to stop at a light. Police cited the teen-age driver for careless and imprudent driving.
Rear-end
auto injury accidents are almost always caused by inattentive driving. This number goes up when teen agers are involved where inexperience also comes into play.
Here are a few things that lead to
teen age driver accidents, including rear-end collisions:
- Following too close
- Unable to anticipate the driver in front making a sudden stop.
- Distractions: Talking to passengers; cell phone calls and/or texting; eating, changing CDs, etc.
- Alcohol and/ or illegal drugs
- Driver fatigue
- Speeding.
- Weather conditions.
- Unfamiliar territory.
- Impatience.
