Push Cars Recalled by Step 2 Toy Manufacturers

Step 2 is a very prominent toy manufacturer who has taken the responsible steps to remove some of it's allegedly defective products from off the market and out of consumers' homes.

The defective products are called "Push around and Whisper Ride Buggies."  They are small, child-sized cars which are designed for young children and toddlers.  Although these push cars come in a variety of colors and styles, the ones being recalled have a red body, with a yellow front compartment, and a blue push handle in the back.  The car is also animated looking with large white eyeballs for headlights.  To see pictures of this car and the CPSC recall notice, click here.

The yellow compartment handle on the front of the car is the defective piece that keeps popping off.  To learm more about this defective product and the effects it has had on children, click here.

In total, about 2.5 million of these toy cars have been recalled.  The manufacturers are urging all consumers to take these push cars away from children and either have them repaired or dispose of them.  If you do choose to repair them, you can contact the Step 2 company and request a repair kit, at no extra charge.

If you have further questions regarding this defective product or other defective products you have read about in the news, give our law offices a call.  As parents, we understand that there are many toys that can pose serious health risks to children, and it is difficult to keep an eye on all of them.  But we urge you to follow our child injury blog for more information.  Obviously, not every defective toy will harm your child, but we hope that you stay informed and cautious.  And as always, our Kansas City based attorneys and staff are standing by to assist you should a child injury or accident arise in your family.
