Rollover Accident in Independence, Missouri Claims Life; How Can Late Night Accidents be Avoided?

Late night driving can be dangerous for everyone.  Many late night crashes can be traced back to one or a combination of a few different reasons.  Among them are the usual suspects: distracted driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, falling asleep a the wheel or vehicle malfunction.

 

A 42 year-old Lee's Summit man was killed in a tragic rollover accident near Independence, Missouri early Sunday.  Reports from the scene of the accident suggest the man, who was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee, lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a concrete median at around 3:30 a.m. on 39th street near Missouri Highway 291.  The vehicle began to roll and the driver was ejected.  He was killed when the rolling Jeep landed on top of him.  At the time of this writing, it was not known what caused the driver to crash.
