In less than a week we have another school bus accident to report and local schools districts haven't even started classes. Sadly, this accident involved a group of children returning home to Missouri following the conclusion of a Baptist church camp in rural Franklin County.
On Tuesday morning, a
school bus carrying 34 people including 4 teenagers and 20 children overturned along I-35 near Wellsville, Kansas. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the accident, but it appears the driver may have overcorrected, causing the bus to overturn. Nine children were taken to area hospitals for treatment and one of those children was airlifted to Children's Mercy Hospital serious injury and is listed in critical condition.
