Semi Loses Control on Missouri Highway - Three People Injured

Three people were injured, one seriously, on Tuesday evening following an accident on 71 Highway near Belton.  A semi, traveling southbound on 71 Highway near Highway 58, lost control of his truck striking several vehicles.  One car was pinned beneath the semi and was carried across the median into the northbound lanes of 71 Highway.  Both northbound and southbound lanes were shut down while crews cleared the highway. 

A life flight helicopter was called to the scene.  Three people were transported to area hospitals.
