At Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys, we are happy that in some states, including Missouri, trucking accidents are on the decline. This has a lot to do with ongoing truck driver training. Unfortunately, these dangerous types of accidents are far from being gone completely from accident reports-- further proof that more drivers need to both continue training and road education and avoid distractions while they are on the road.
A semi-tractor trailer truck collided with a bridge over pass last week, killing the 56 year-old driver. The fatal trucking accident happened on Interstate 40 in Claremone, North Carolina when the semi-truck hit the Exit 135 overpass around 11 a.m. The accident forced the North Carolina highway patrol to shut down eastbound lanes of I-40 for several hours while the wreckage was cleared. No other vehicles were involved in the trucking accident.
According to members of the Florida State Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer was driving east on Sand Lake, attempting to make a left hand turn, when one of the motorcyclists rear-ended the big rig truck. Moments later , the second motorcycle crashed into the trailer. Both motorcyclists were killed in the crash.
Our experienced Kansas City Trucking Injury Attorneys are deeply saddened by the death of the motorcyclists in this tragic accident. Unfortunately it is a shocking reminder at what can happen when you become distracted while driving-- no matter if you're driving a motorcycle, a car or even a semi-truck.
