Staying Calm after a Kansas City Motorcycle Accident can Be Key to Survival

Most of the time, we are going to tell you that cars, trucks and motorcycles don't mix well with cell phone use.  But here is a near tragic motorcycle accident that was actually helped by the use of a cell phone.  Although, for the record-- the well timed cell phone call was placed after the accident and in fact helped secure rescue.

A Kansas City motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident managed to guide emergency crews to his accident location with his cell phone. The motorcycle injury accident happened around 6 a.m. on May 17, 2011 near the ramp from southbound 169 to westbound 152 in Kansas City, Missouri.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the driver was thrown off the motorcycle and suffered non-life threatening injuries when he lost control on the highway ramp and went off the road, crashing into a wooded area that wasn't visible from the roadside.  Despite his injuries, the motorcycle accident victim was able to dial 911 to call police and lead them to the wooded area where he and his bike had landed.

As experienced Kansas City Motorcycle Injury Attorneys hope in the future all motorists pay attention to when construction zones begin and end and know the differences in speed limits to ensure everyone's safety.

Motorcycles can be dangerous enough when other motorists on the road but can be just as dangerous on their own. Drive safe this spring and summer. Drive smart and share the road because these types of motorcycle-truck accidents can have devastating consequences.
