Teen Arrested In Rock Throwing Incident Along Highway 71 Near Harrisonville

Driving down a highway most people do not think of potential hazards lurking above their vehicles.  Unfortunately, along 71 Highway near Harrisonville, those hazards were very real.  Police arrested a Harrisonville teen and are investigating five other teens in regards to a rock throwing incident that took place on January 23, 2010.  The teens were reported to have taken rocks and pieces of concrete and thrown them from a bridge onto vehicles travelling along 71 Highway.  Six vehicles were damaged during this incident and police reported that there could have been deaths associated with the teens actions. 

At Roswold Law Group, we are particularly aware of the catastrophic injuries and damages that can occur as a result of unexpected developments on the highway,whether unintended or intended such as in this instance, and we are thankful that there were no injuries reported as a result of this prank.  We hope that as a result of the legal ramifications arising out of the Highway 71 rock throwing incident the teens involved come to understand the serious dangers involved in their actions, and we hope that the publicity of this matter will serve to discourage such dangerous and irresponsible behavior in the future.
