Three Arrested Following Kansas City Car Crash and Abduction

A car crash near Brush Creek Boulevard and Prospect Avenue led to an abduction Thursday afternoon in Kansas City. McWaylan Lewis, a retired marine, was driving to Grandview on his way from a visit to the Veteran's Administration when his vehicle was clipped in a minor collision.  A large, heavyset man from the other vehicle jumped into Lewis's car, took Lewis's cell phone and demanded to be paid for the crash. 

Lewis drove the man to a Grandview bank, while being followed by the other vehicle in the crash, and was able to get a note to the clerk asking her to call the police. 

Police were notified and three suspects were arrested.  Lewis was not harmed in the incident. The Kansas City attorneys at Roswold Law Group applaud Mr. Lewis and the bank teller for their quick thinking and bravery in helping the police to apprehend these suspects.  This type of crime is an important reminder for all drivers, including those here in Missouri and Kansas, to keep your doors locked whenever you are in your vehicle.  Minor auto crashes can be a means to get to a person in another vehicle, whether it is for a robbery or an even more nefarious crime.  Don't make it easy for criminals to get to you.
