The Board of Police Commissioners was presented with 2009 statistics of crashes in the Kansas City MIssouri metro area. The top 20 crash sites involved areas all over the Kansas City Missouri metro area , but the clear leader was I-435 and I-70 with 107 crashes last year. Of the top 20 crash sites, only the intersection of 5th and Broadway did not involve a highway.Everyone needs to take great care when entering or exiting a highway, especially at those areas. Merging traffic, rapidly increasing and decreasing speeds and switching lanes all require a driver's complete attention and also provide a greater chance of a Kansas or Missouri auto accident.
