Two Olathe Elementary School Girls Hit in School Parking Lot

Heatherstone Elementary School in Olathe was the scene of a frighening car vs. pedestrian accident involving two 10-year-old girls and a teen driver recently.  Police reported that an Olathe East High School junior was looking for a place to park when the vehicle struck the two girls.  Emergency personnel responded almost immediately, as they wre already at the school for a fun run.  One child was airlifted to Children's Mercy Hospital for treatment of possible head injuries.  The other child was taken to an area hospital by a parent.  Authorities are still working to determine whether , the teen driver will be charged in the incident.
